The forum presents current questions and developments in science and research. The special thing: Here, visitors are asked to formulate their own opinions and ideas for the world of tomorrow. Science and technology are constantly evolving and they can provide solutions for the world of tomorrow. But everyone has to get involved in order to implement these ideas and master the challenges of the future. The forum offers the ideal framework for this.
To ensure that the widest possible audience can use the hands-on offer, very different approaches and usage scenarios are created in the forum. At the total of 15 forum stations, visitors can actively and multimodally engage with current developments in science and technology, ask questions, discuss things together and, above all, create their own contributions.
In the entrance area of the forum, the Wissenswelten touch table invites you to explore news from science and technology in a playful way. The contributions constantly flow onto the illustrated interaction surface as interactive knowledge bubbles and are grouped around the major scientific fields.
At the four workstations of the Wissenstation+, various scientific topics offered by experimenta can be researched and explored in more detail. In addition to current scientific news, you can also find background information on the experimenta exhibits here.
The Future Lab depicts a lively cityscape on a touch table, which visitors can explore with digital vehicles. The city as a system of order and reference serves to locate problems and research questions and to incorporate your own ideas into the matrix. At each station in the city, such as the hospital, school or power plant, visitors can find out about the most important challenges in this area and formulate their own ideas and questions. The future lab grows with every visitor contribution and forms an interdisciplinary spectrum of different visitor perspectives.
At the two Postcard stations, visitors can express their opinion in the form of a statement postcard. In comfortable seating niches, a self-portrait can first be taken against different backgrounds and then provided with an individual statement. The finished postcard can then be printed out and pinned to the opinion wall in the forum.
The improvers stations in the center of the forum call on visitors to develop ideas to make the world a little better. An interactive globe provides an introduction to stimulating project ideas from all over the world and leads to the design of your own activities.
At the two world explorer stations in the rear area of the forum, visitors can explore a digital project directory with national and international citizen science initiatives and search for participatory projects using free search entries and a keyword index.
The Filmbox is a mini cinema that offers space for four visitors who want to experience the world of science up close in exciting film contributions.
With the forum, experimenta Heilbronn is creating a multifaceted offering that, in a previously unique way, combines dialogue about science with the immediate opportunity to form your own ideas, to research and develop yourself. Visitors are introduced to the design of their own contributions in the form of texts, sketches and videos in an entertaining and playful way and are specifically encouraged to formulate their own positions and ideas. Research, discussion, experimentation and design can be carried out in a stimulating environment. The contributions created here will be presented permanently as part of the exhibition.
In the forum, experimenta enables scientific engagement on various levels (guided usage scenarios, exhibition elements, workshops and events), provides important content-related impulses and connects visitors with actors from science, politics and business as well as non-governmental initiatives and projects.
The offer is aimed particularly at young people and young adults aged 14 to 29, who can temporarily and continuously explore the most diverse aspects of science and technology with a view to shaping the future together, networked with other actors, guided or in independent projects.
As part of a multidirectional communication strategy, a dialogue is established beyond the walls of experimenta and the forum, which not only offers an attractive platform for the visitors' contributions, but also enables mutual impulses. In this way, experimenta creates added value offers, increases credibility as a science broker and regularly generates new visitor groups through the interlocking offer levels.
With the forum, experimenta is putting visitors at the center of its communication strategy. The participation of visitors and the fundamental opening of the science center offering, as experimenta Heilbronn is striving for, is a novelty in Germany and beyond. As the largest German science center, experimenta also has a unique selling point in this respect - as the first citizen science center.
